Service & Leadership
Jill lives in the city of Flint. Years ago, her husband, a school teacher, wanted to move to Flint and though Jill grew up in the small town of Frankenmuth where they “never had anything to do” as a kid, she liked the idea of Flint because it was a city. Little did she and her husband know that they would encounter two hugely significant events shortly after moving there: 1) The financial crisis of 2008-09 that led to a major drop in real estate values and 2) the Flint Water Crisis. While most people would have perhaps fled the city while they had the chance, Jill and her husband chose to stay because they wanted to be a part of the solution. Flint has become their cherished home and they continue to take part in its revitalization and renaissance.
Jill is always looking for ways to give back to the Flint community. Currently, she serves as a finance committee member and on the board of directors for the YWCA of Flint and is also a board member of the Flint Women’s Forum. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and helps with the Parent-Teacher-Association at her children’s Flint school.
