Sherri is the president, CEO, and lead Wealth Advisor of Stephens Wealth Management Group (SWMG), a Registered Investment Advisor. She began her career more than 40 years ago as an intern at the practice and ultimately became owner in 1994. Since that time, Sherri has built a trusted team, quadrupled the size of the practice, became nationally recognized as a leading woman in her profession, and served in key leadership positions for several local institutions and non-profit organizations.  Also, plays an active role in mentoring women in finance.

Sherri's team of Wealth Advisors, client support representatives, and specialists focus on providing objective advice for comprehensive wealth management. Sherri specializes in working with businesses and high net-worth families and individuals with complex, multi-faceted needs.

Sherri's Money Story

“Sometimes, the most pivotal lessons in life aren’t taught by teachers. They are taught by people who see something in us that we do not see in ourselves. Growing up in Davison, I planned to follow in my parents’ footsteps by majoring in education at college. But a high school internship for Flint financial advisor, John Winton, of Raymond James Financial Services, set me on a path to become one of America’s top financial advisors.

John encouraged me to take business classes at the University of Michigan - Flint. I loved the courses and decided to pursue a business degree. Like many others, I benefited from John’s personal mission to nurture talent. Countless individuals have told me, ‘I spent an hour with John, and it changed the trajectory of my life.’ John did that for clients, colleagues and even people he didn’t know. He taught me how rewarding it is to mentor others, to use my financial aptitude to benefit the community, and that I can make a difference in people’s lives.”

Service & Leadership

Sherri’s leadership extends beyond the office and into the community. Currently, Sherri serves as the trustee for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) and is also chair of the Investment Committee. Additionally, she served as past board chair for CFGF. The Community Foundation of Greater Flint is one of the largest public charities in the state of Michigan.

Sherri is on an advisory board to the School of Business of her alma mater, University of Michigan-Flint, and sponsors an Advancement in Wealth Management scholarship for those interested in pursuing a career in the field. She also serves as a board member for McLaren Hospital.

Because Sherri believes in the advancement of women in finance, she is a founding member of the Women’s Leadership Alliance, whose mission is to attract, develop, and engage tomorrow's most promising women leaders in order to grow and strengthen the financial advisory profession.
