Retirement Planning: Look Beyond Your Financials

Retirement is supposed to be fun, right? It’s the prize for your hard work and dedication to your job, family, community, and more. Then why might the idea of or your actual retirement sometimes feel a little bit terrible?

You and various members of our team have worked together and done a lot of financial planning to be sure you are prepared for retirement.  The financial lens is an important one for ensuring a smooth retirement. That said, the transition into retirement has many facets that can go well beyond your financial situation.

As you think about your retirement years, we have some resources to break this challenging cycle and make (hopefully!) retirement more enjoyable. Please take time to read the below materials and put them to work for you.

Learn about and do some personalized planning for the four phases of retirement using information from the MIT Age Lab

The four retirement phases include the:

1) Honeymoon Phase

2) Big Decision Phase

3) Navigating Longevity Phase

4) Solo Journey Phase

Note that retirement can run for 8,000 days+, so there’s a lot of life to pack in.
