This month’s staff spotlight – Chandler Fish. Chandler is our Office Manager and Compliance Analyst.
Can you explain what you do at the firm and what about it do you enjoy most?
I am the office manager, as well as a compliance analyst at SWMG. When I am wearing my office manager hat, I am involved in a lot of the operational functions of the business to help ensure things are running smoothly. When I am wearing my compliance hat, I am often researching questions, analyzing data, or maintaining records to comply with laws and regulations. I am also the voice and face that a lot of our clients have come to know over the past 12 years. I enjoy being involved in almost all areas of the business whether it is assisting clients when they call in and their dedicated Client Relationship Associate isn’t available, being the “eagle eye” on marketing materials, or being the go-to for many of our IT systems – to name a few.
What are a couple of important lessons you have learned while working at SWMG?
The importance of being a team player and that flexibility is key. I try to really keep these two things in mind in my everyday life.
If you weren’t working in the wealth management field, what do you think you would have done instead?
I actually have a degree in journalism so probably something in that field. Growing up I thoroughly enjoyed both reading and writing and most of my days were spent doing one of those two things. I am not able to devote as much time to reading or writing these days, as most of my focus when I am not at work is being a mom to my three young kids. I am confident that my passion for reading and writing will return one day.
What is something that clients might be surprised to learn about you?
I have a group of friends that I met online 14 years ago – two that live in Canada and one that lives in England. While our in-person reunions have become less frequent the older we get, we are still as close as ever and have a very special bond. A trip to England is still on my bucket list!
